Hi friends! Apologies for the lack of new posts this week. For those who haven't been getting updates via the discord, this week has been pretty scary. There has been a fast-moving wind-driven fire within a block or so of my residence, and we've been under evacuation orders all week. That order was downgraded to a warning today. We are out of the immediate path of the fire, and thanks to the 24/7 efforts of hundreds of firefighters and building-shakingly low flybys to drop water and phoscheck, our side of the blaze was contained and did not reach any major residential areas. It was still very scary. All my important things are still sitting in a pair of backpacks. Everyone around me had to reckon with the possibility of losing nearly every material possession. And you know what? I realized I didn't mind. I calmly packed some clothes, a microphone, a camera, and my laptop, knowing that I really didn't need most of this stuff. It was scary, but I knew I'd be alright, in part because I know there's a community of people I'm connected to, even over distance and through the semi-permeable membrane of our creator-audience relationship, and I know those people will have my back if the going gets tough. So... Thank you for that. The air quality is still terrible, and I'm having pretty severe allergies despite air purification and masking up. As soon as that improves and I'm able to speak without dripping from eyes and nose, I'll be back in your feed posting new episodes. For now, thanks for your patience and support.
