Kdrama Poll Round 2 (We are finishing Moon Lovers)
“What about XYZ? You reacted to Season 1…” Yeah, but the real question is: Do youuuuu actually want to see us react to Season 2? That’s why we do polls. I’m usually trying to pick the show that the largest part of the community wants to watch. Sometimes I react to my own personal bias without needing a vote, but that’s on me. If I’m choosing a show mainly for the community, then the vote, the chat energy, and the audience demand have to matter. That just makes the most sense. If I like two shows equally, but one show makes 10 people happy and another show makes 20 people happy, I’m probably choosing the one that makes 20 people happy. That doesn’t mean the other show is bad. It just means reaction slots are limited, and I’m trying to serve the biggest part of the audience. Now, why did I automatically get interested in Royal Nemesis and not some other show? Because sometimes I get interested in something because you guys are clearly having fun with it. I saw the trailer at first and was like, “naaaaa, I don’t know.” But then the chat kept hyping it up. People were talking to each other about it, posting gifs, making jokes, and acting like the party already started without me. And I’m not gonna lie… that gets my attention. Not because people were trying to hard-sell me directly. Actually, I tense up a little when somebody starts pressure-pitching me a show too hard. The better sell is when I see the community naturally excited together. That joy is contagious. I see the memes. I see the jokes. I see people having fun without even talking to me directly. Then I start thinking, “Hold on… I kinda wanna be part of this too.” Somehow I became the joy stealer. My villain arc has begun. But seriously, that’s how some shows get my attention. A poll win matters. Numbers matter. But community energy matters too. If people are only saying, “Are you reacting to XYZ?” that does not hit the same as seeing people actually talk about the show, joke about it, and get excited together. I pay attention to the people who are active in Patreon and Discord. I’ve done the same thing with anime too. Over time, I get a feel for what shows are creating real energy, what jokes I want to be part of, and what the community is actually enjoying together. So the best way to sell me on a show is not always to pitch me harder. Sometimes it’s just: win the poll, show the numbers, or let me see the community having real fun with it. That sells me way more than pressure.
